We hit the jackpot with these outfits.
This past month, I had the pleasure of styling one of my dearest friends for her trip to Vegas.
As I casually stroll through her Instagram page, admiring the outfits I have yet to borrow, one can’t help but wonder how one can look so advanced with a minimalist style. Every outfit is styled with the trendiest accessories and every shoe in her collection is curated to match her pristine collection of gorgeous matte lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes. *Sighs* (Her shoes do not fit me, unfortunately.) But like most of us, shoe collection on fleek or not, black and tan solids make-up most of her closet. So early on, I decided I wanted to add a little dimension, pop of pattern and texture where it was needed. As a lover of all things black, it was remotely satisfying to see color and pattern mix into her carry-on for this trip.
Styling Tip 1: If you’re under 5’4, Go for Vertical Stripes! They elongate you! Horizontal stripes on the other hand, bring more attention to your curves.
Styling Tip #2 : REPURPOSE! What I love about this outfit is that originally it was a day time outfit we repurposed into a night outfit. We added a motto jacket and added strappy heels for a leverage instantly creating a new look.
Styling Tip #3: Not all Thigh-Highs are your friend. Man, I love this trend so much and honestly it’s a shame that South Florida is 80 something degrees year round. But, as simple as this trend is, believe it or not, there is a way to mess it up.When wearing your thigh-highs, make sure the dress or skirt is about 3-4 inches higher than where the boot ends. Reason being, the shorter the length in-between your dress/skirt and the boot, the shorter you look.
